Bayblock Acrylic & Silicone Coatings

Ultraviolet rays (UV) combined with moisture can play havoc with the deterioration of an exposed surface. Exposed surfaces can include, but are not limited to; architectural structures, the exterior substrate of containment tanks, outdoor piping systems and roofs. The ultraviolet (UV) stabilization found in BaySystems protective coatings are an indispensable element of the BaySystems Protective Coating line. After application, the surface is protected from UV degradation and temperature variations.

When used as waterproofing components, these materials are capable of resisting hydrostatic pressure and are categorized as waterproofing materials.

The Bayblock protective coating line is offered in a variety of formulations, reflectivity and emissivity ratings and custom colors.

Bayblock (acrylics) are water-based elastomeric coatings widely used in BaySystems MAPS Program as a roof coating. They have earned the CRRC® rating due to their high reflectivity of harmful UV rays.

Bayblock coating is a single-component silicone elastomer specifically designed to protect roofs and construction surfaces from the effects of weather and moisture. Bayblock features outstanding high solids content , rapid cure time and superior physical properties.

Bayblock can be used by itself as the complete protective coating membrane or as a topcoat over a tough polyurethane elastomer basecoat for maximum life expectancy on a roof assembly. With the addition of ceramic roofing granules embedded into the coating surface, superior abrasion resistance is achieved.

Notices

The following are important considerations when making final selection of Primer:
1. Cure Times
2. Single or Plural Component
3. Solvent or Water based
4. Freight Classification
Product physical properties, application instructions, and processing parameters are located on each primer technical datasheet.

Reminder
Primer ranking system above:
1 depicts First choice recommendation
2 depicts Second choice recommendation
3 depicts Third choice recommendationCheck Primer Data Sheets for this important information.

Note: Foam over EPDM only for fully adhered EPDM not mechanically fastened.

If no Primer recommendation exists for a product/substrate combination, then BaySystems does not recommend that particular product/substrate combination.

Definitions

Ferrous Metals - Metals which contain Iron. They may have small amounts of other metals or other elements added, to give the required properties.

Ferrous Metals examples: Steel, Galvanized Steel, Stainless Steel.

Non-Ferrous Metals - Metals which do not contain any iron. They are magnetic and are usually more resistant to corrosion than ferrous metals.

Non-Ferrous Metals examples: Aluminum, Copper, Lead, Zinc.

SINGLE PLY - APP
Is a modified bitumen membrane consisting of asphalt modified with atactic polyolefin reinforced with a non-woven polyester mat. APP is applied by heat welding or with cold-applied adhesives.

SINGLE PLY - EPDM
Based on ethylene propylene diene monomer, this membrane commonly features installations that are fully adhered, ballasted or mechanically attached.

SINGLE PLY - PVC
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) roofing systems is a flexible PVC- and KEE-blended thermoplastic roofing membrane. This hot-air welded, polyester scrim-reinforced membrane is white.
